NATO members won't agree to sell the territory of Greenland to the US, something many of them have been very public about (hence Trumps lame ass tariff threats). The best possible outcome for the US is that the rest of NATO agrees to pay up more, and send more troops up there. And that Denmark and Greenland still allows him to deploy as much military infrastructure as he wants on Greenland territory, something he's been able to since WW2. He will never be allowed to buy Greenland.
