In and of itself, the country of origin thing isn't a huge deal, but it's a concerning development and it also concerns me more that so many comments are asking for region blocks, VPN bans, publically available previous usernames, etc. I already took issue with X but this convinced me to significantly reduce my time there because it's really only a matter of time until they go too far with their privacy invasions.
