Time to ditch Debian and Ubuntu then.
You are just too emotionally invested in BTC to see that Bitcoin the idea is much bigger and it still lives on through Monero. The idea will still be there as pure as always even when Monero gets corrupted. The key is to know when it is time to move on instead of attaching your whole identity to something impermanent.
This is life. You build it. Someone corrupts it. You move on build something better again. Someone corrupts it.
Repeat.
