Should I buy a refurbed Pixel 7 for 200 cuck bucks, wait for two years for the new and improved battery and tensor chip tech to fully deploy, then upgrade to Pixel 10/11?
OR
Yolo on the Pixel 9 pro with 0% finance at 30 cuck bucks/mnth over three years... then be stuck with this older gen tech for at least 5 years because I refuse to upgrade my phone in a shorter time frame when it costs so much π
I think this low time preference thinking has got me clearly swaying towards option one, π€ but the 9 pro looks so new and shiny, the temptation is real π€£ it appeals to my inner magpie.

I just got the 8a from T-Mobile for $500 a few days ago. The 9 was $1000. Less data storage though. But I think just as new and shiny.
Fair enough, is that locked to T-mobile though? Do you have any intention of installing Graphene OS?
I think I could pick up a refurbished 8 Pro for about 550 though π€ but the 200 price tag is really tempting, then I can stack more sats π€£
I don't. It is locked and I don't need my phone for much except a good camera.
200 is pretty amazing for an unlocked phone. I support the 7!
Been having the same debate and decided to go with the 7β¦ preserve the stack and get whatβs needed
Yeah bro, 200 vs 1000 is a big difference, the 0% finance was the thing tempting me though π
but I'm pretty made up on the seven, I think I'll order it this evening. Also, due to it being my first attempt at running graphene it's not such a huge loss if I realise it doesn't work for me for some reason. π€·π»ββοΈ
Yeah, I think my mind is made up π
π yea same for me and I came to the same conclusion
Congratulations on the new (for you!) phone!
i have 7 and it works just fine except for battery. but I doubt that battery will be a lot better with the 9...
BTW, do you want to install graphene os or not?
It might be most secure. But hardly anyone uses it effectively enough.
I'm waiting for LineageOS to catch up to my current phone.
LineageOS depends on how you install it. I stick with the MicroG version and it's more than enough for my uses and in many ways, it's more friendly than GrapheneOS.
Thanks! Brand-new-second-hand! π
Fair enough, Lineage is certainly the most visually appealing. But I guess the same can be achieved on graphene by using a launcher?
That is my intention, yes.
I'm sure the battery can't be worse than my current dieing 5 Yr old phone π
Pixel 7 I would go with. They serve 7 years of security updates donβt they?
I would just rather buy and own something instead of having a 3 year contract.
Yeah me too ππΌ but when the debt has 0% interest the bill actually gets "cheaper" over the three years thanks to inflation. But I do like having a clean financial slate.
nice
