With more and more websites blocking VPN IP address I'm finding myself using TOR Browser much more frequently. TOR brings additional anonymity, too, which is a benefit. Youtube is becoming increasingly difficult to use, too and apps like FreeTube and NewPipe are often unusable.
But damn it's obnoxious how surveilled and un-private the web has become.
I'm bullish on where we're headed though! Do you have any work-arounds or anything you're doing to retain as much privacy as possible?

I believe that the future lies in new, more decentralized indie platforms, almost like a multiverse of small groups, but the causes end up bringing them together almost like a race for the same common goal. I agree with your point about YouTube and others, they are unbearable and less and less concerned with quality performance for users, perhaps it is the famous dilemma of squeezing the cow that no longer gives milk, it turns out that we become that kind of cattle in the end.
Small groups.. Like nostr? I'm hoping that someday the entire internet unites upon decentralized and interoperable technology, such as nostr, holepunch, pubky, and so on. Such that we have a full control over our data and can interact and *transact* in peace - as humans should!
Man the web is unusable nowadays without dropping your pants and showing your asshole. Fuck them. I am never using Google shit again.
Yeah, I completely quit Google awhile back. Except Maps. That's their super-app if you ask me. Never found anything open source that's close.
And don't forget:
I am not a robot ☑️
Those things are getting obnoxious as fuck.
Yeah cloudflare is also a piece of shit
before you used google to get results, today it's to get advertising in your face... bad end
exactly, or maybe even better than nostr, why not?! nostr is not perfect but it is what best meets our needs at the moment
TailsOS on a USB stick is feeling pretty cool.
