This is hard. π§ π₯
Tags because you don't even want to SEE the active conflicts that other folks are LIVING?!
You don't even have to experience it due to your privilege, but you don't even want to WITNESS it.
This is a hard line to toe in today's increasingly dystopian world.
Aside from genuine mental health problems, everyone needs to show solidarity somehow and if this small a touchpoint isn't even on cards.....chat, we're cooked. π¨

Agreed.
Which is why were saying this is such a hard line to toe.
This is also the reason why no one shows their sympathies for Gaza, Sudan, Congo, etc...because we avert our eyes at everything.
Not saying we need to get used to gore, but we could all do with getting used to a wee bit more of reality...
That wasn't the point.
But okay then, why don't you recommend folks to follow on Nostr who are talking about these 3 genocides specifically? There are several more.
We've had to follow-unfollow a bunch of problematic folks who have deeply racist, misogynistic, white-supremist views, so that def wasn't for lack of trying.
@FLASH covers Gaza often, and you'll probably find folks in the comments of those posts that will lead you to other good follows
@HRF
And idk who else exactly but my feed has a lot on US support of wars in general- lots of intersects with bitcoiners there. It sound like you've done searches for particular terms?
Many of us are most focused on pulling out our support for the war machine in any way that we can, and you won't always see that reflected in coverage of the misery itself. (Personally I want to know what's going on but only to the extent that it sharpens my focus of my own actions that can help or hurt. I've seen plenty of folks go so deep down those rabbit holes that they don't have the bandwidth to extract their support for that system that's perpetuating the violence.)
Ya, that wasn't very helpful. We're focused on spreading awareness ποΈ
Don't appreciate the lecture on what we have/haven't done with limited assumptions as in your past 2 replies.
You look at the US, we look at the world, we are not the same.
The follower count is an old-fashioned Twatter vanity metric. Fascists and white supremacists on #Nostr have 20,000+ followers. Says more about you for revering them than it says about us. Do better.
Don't like what we post, don't consume it. We have several interactions with people who don't follow us.
We chase the β¨Truth, we speak it too, nobody will stop us.
Our original point about the Act of Witnessing stands valid βοΈπ‘οΈ~ LG
You're only surprised because you're likely on that side yourself.
One good, informed look at the content they post shows everything. We champion morality and integrity.
But we don't have time to argue with the clutches-their-pearls and US-is-the-world approach. ~ KM
I genuinely thought we were having a good-faith exchange.
I'm out. Best to you -
Fiddlehodl might not be on that side, but I agree it's a problem that none of us cover all the most important world news
Protip for next time: good faith discussions don't start with "wHaT aRE yOU tAlKiNg aBoUT?!" to an account like ours.
Best to you too π©
Accounts like us strive to, but they won't get their spotlight or the vanity metric of many followers, because people don't like reading about the truth.
It's okay tho, this is an age-old consciousness battle β¨π§
We'll fight the good fight for as long as we can. Because we Should.
