Back in the day some musicians would send their lyrics to themselves in a certified letter and keep it sealed. This provided a time stamp of a sort. It was known as a poor mans copyright. I was thinking that posting original music on nostr would serve the same purpose because it is decentralized. Sorry if off topic, the thought occurred to me when I saw your post.

100% . But the idea of copyright is interesting here because everything is open and unstoppable on nostr. We're going to have to hope the original author of a work is known through the social graph and the value flows back to them

Copyright is automatic upon creation. Years ago I used to registered-mail music on CDR to myself before releasing which provided evidence of my claim if required.
