I'm gonna write a little social network + chat server and client for my family, invite-only. And I think Nostr is an overkill for it, I don't need its advantages. Run the server on a cheap VPS, pair client with server and off you go. But I'm tired of this and that app being blocked in different countries, p2p messengers failing all the time. Not sustainable for my mom. A simple Twitter-like timeline + group chat is all we need as a family. I'll open-source it, too, maybe someone else will need it.
