what prevents the same thing happening to primal on nostr? what would happen if the account was a primal account?

You open a different client and use your nsec there?
in theory yes. I guess?
but all the primal users are user@primal.net and they run a caching service so that users tweets could be forced to be blocked on primal.net? dunno but would be good to know
I work with what is. If Primal starts misbehaving, I will switch easily and many others will, too, because Nostr allows exactly that.
yes indeed
just wonder if primal is too centralised and could be forced to do something similar?
guess its matter of when not if. we'll find out what happens when it happens. from what i understand of the incident the user is only blocked on the main app so it sounds similar in that they can use other bluesky services. I don't know enough about either protocol to know for sure tho
Your digital identity on Nostr isn't associated with any specific server or company, so there is no specific server or company that can ban you, as long as you replicate your events across multiple relays. You can even backup them and upload them to new relays if necessary.
Still, Nostr isn't truly resistant to government censorship (especially from your own government), since people can be arrested.
It is resistant to corporate censorship, however.
