Non custodial & no lightning Channels is a win for sure! But can you do lightning to layer 1 HW Wallet whilst retaining all that privacy? If so, it’s almost like a mix to cold, that would be just epic. (But from what I’ve seen, it seems to be all lightning based only)

I will be 100% transparent and honest, when I say that somebody who believes in this space...that the headlines are shaking me. SEC wanting to sue everybody. (D)oJ arresting everybody. IRS wanting to raise Cap Gains on everybody. It's getting into my headspace.

The class of 2021 needs some NGU to realize the windfall earlier classes have aiding their peace of mind … feels very much like there are forces out there working to suppress this next wave of financially free bitcoiners.

Already watched it, and felt optimistic myself. I think their bucket already has too many holes, and more are being created, at an ever increasing rate - it's too late to plug them all. It's unfortunate the powers that be cannot see this - or maybe they do but they feel they have to try, that this is just the way it has to be. It seems they intend to throw a tantrum. I imagine it'll be scary, some will have wealth confiscated, some will be jailed - all in their desperate attempt to swim against the current. And then they'll lose the financial powers they have anyway. Such a waste.

That's the direction to walk!

Custodied by a federation. A large Multisig where everyone has to come together to access the underlying bitcoin. It's custodial, but without a single point of failure. It will work well for communities and allow people to transact without fees. Most people will not be able to afford to use the base layer, so this is one approach to scaling it for communities.

Just occurred to me: the guardians of a mint don’t know what’s happening in their mint. If illicit activities were going on in your mint (that’s a certainty at some point), could you possibly get arrested, like for money laundering or something? At this point I wouldn’t be comfortable being a signatory tbh.
