You got a couple points but damn dude imprisoned for life a significant % of the population is crazy (yet again thatβs where we currently are)
why not just prison reform that actually rehabilitates these people instead of institutionalizing them for life
forgot what country it was but i watched a documentary it was a super cold European country where 0.5% is a repeat offender because of the work they do to rehabilitate these people while theyβre incarcerated

Yeah the Nordic countries don't treat imprisonment as 100% punishment. For many prisoners it is actually beneficial for a country to educate & teach skills to them rather than have them back in the streets to commit more crimes. Obviously this doesn't apply to hardened violent criminals. But the prison aystem in rhe US is big business.
Denmark is known to have a very progressive and highly functional prison system.
Denmark does exactly this even to mass murders like Breikevic, which murdered more than 100 people at once. It is not as if a humane system would be limited to very milde cases.
