I mean, people can propose anything they want and push to get it adopted. That’s what the bip-177 people are trying. But sats is already the standard that emerged organically and has been used for more than a decade, adopted widely by wallets, exchanges, educators, etc. Silly to try and eradicate that terminology.

Sure, and I’m pretty sure wallets will adopt it for the simple reason that ₿ is much more recognizable than “sats”. No one outside of the small Bitcoin bubble knows wtf sats are.
