If every single mentally stable person owned a gun things would be safer, the only time I think a person should be denied the right to carry is if they are actually mentally ill or have some mental problem or disability.

If they're that dangerous then why allow them to live freely in society at all? People tend to apply this thinking to guns but nothing else in the world around us that can cause immense harm.
Mentally ill people are no more risk than anyone else, most of the time less.
Apart from people with depressive disorders killing themselves it's mostly not mentally ill people killing.
