Its good to see even back then they paid attention to including vodka and cigs in the "food" ration as we all know now they are essential for a balanced and nutritious diet.👍
Imagine how incredible it would have been to have a small amount of land with a couple chickens, you would be a king during this time.
I went to Poland a couple of years ago and they had supermarket aisles lined with vodka from one side to the other.
There are Cubans living here who could tell you worse stories, like secretly raising a pig in the bathtub to get enough protein, putting condoms on pizza as a substitute for cheese that melts in the heat, or going to jail for having two gas cylinders for “hoarding.”
As I understand it, yes, there was generally private agriculture in Poland because collectivization was a resounding failure and there was a lot of resistance to the quota system. The other important factor was the black market.
The 2030s could yield the same possibility. Crazy how history rhymes.
