No silly, changing the code (for no good reason) to EASILY allow the storage of non monetary data on chain, degrades Bitcoin. That's what I'm saying. I have a pretty shitty view about the change, and the people who support it.
I'll also point out (again), that I'm aware it has always been possible to store non monetary data on chain, but it has never been this EASY to do so, especially by default, and for no good reason.
