running a relay isn't that hard either, if you can install RSS you can definitely install strfry or realy or khatru

right, but it has to be updated somehow, even if the http server is generic very simple, indeed, compared to nostr protocol very simple, but then you still need a mechanism to add content and nostr makes that easier really there's not a lot of difference between them except nostr events are cryptographically verifiable and there is a way to control who can publish them (either black/white list or auth black/white list or both). i made that part really simple by enabling the simple use of follow and mute lists for this, combined with auth... the configuration is basically done within any ordinary client, you don't have to tinker with a complex extra interface
