I’ve wondered this too. There are probably a lot of variables that contribute to how visible the trails are, such as the density of the air at that altitude, the condensation at that altitude, and the current ppm of alumina, barium, or strontium in the atmosphere at that altitude. Of course, also, there are jets that are legit and aren’t spraying.
