Yes what did you think tv directors actually create hand gestures from scratch? Noo that stuff comes from references. This comes from a Cohanim congregation ritual in which the Cohanim Jewish priest covers their face with a tallit which is a prayer shaw faces the congregations puts their hands up as shown in the photo & gives blessings to the people.
