Yes very interesting, I always wonder how these are done theres something about it that depending on the methods used it either comes out looking good or looking ugly. It's nice someone did the vhs versions
If you haven't watched these you should. It is a very well done project, they look incredible. All 3 original films are now available. They blow the VHS (lol) and DVD versions away.
Even with YouTube compression it looks good. The 84GB 4K file is worth the download if you're a fan.
The best way to watch the original trilogy ๐Ÿค™ This is just the first film, but all 3 have had this restoration treatment. They are available as well on archive.org, and there are torrents out there.
I need to watch these. I don't hate everything they did with the special editions, but the Han/Greedo thing and then basically everything they did with Jedi are just awful awful changes. That music scene in Jedi... image
They really should just reshow stuff in cinemas rather than show remakes and cheap slop. :) It's probably even cheaper than making the cheap slop (maybe?)
There must be reasons, but I'm not aware of them. All I know is I would go see a copy of this at a theater in an instant, but the chance of me going to see a modern Star Wars film is 0%. FWIW the best movie I've seen in theaters in 10 years was a showing of Terminator 2 at a local cinema.
