One only needs to go through the costly licensing and tag acquisition and the limited entry hunt draw process to understand they are still very much “the king’s deer”. I see people in the grocery store standing in front of the meat cooler just swaying for minutes at a time, trying to weigh their next tank of gas vs some good quality steaks. Maybe we could solve the affordable protein problem by eating politicians. Likely tastes like bullshit though.
