Have you ever stood before a judge facing potential multiple decades in prison? I have. Twice. If you havent, you are in no place to criticize their pleas in court cases that they could have never won with trillion dollars. It was to send a message to others who would dare help people with privavcy, nothing more. They committed zero crimes, and there is no justifution for their arrests.

If they never could have won with a trillion dollars then they never should have raised money for trial and appeals. They basically defrauded the community, claiming they intended to go to trial and appeal, raising more than enough funds to do so, then pleading. I’m not criticizing the plea. I’m criticizing the fraudulent fundraising, which would have been better put towards people who actually planned to fight cases to the end.
