Exactly! Been here 3 years and every time I meet long time bitcoiners at events here (and around the world) that don't use LN I'm very saddened. Some very famous names included. It's weird, I pay my bills in LN even but somehow the 'nobody uses it' meme lives on. (P.S. I don't call myself a maximalist and most of the people I'm referring to wouldn't either, but that's beside the point.)

i use lighting multiple times a week and i’m more likely to use a service if it accepts lighting. i’m just a lazy customer and lightning is the most convenient way to pay.

Don't you like paying by card? You only need to provide your legal name and address, write 16 numbers, a date and 3 digits, while also needing to approve the payment from your phone. Oh and if you use a vpn, the 2fa page might not work and you need to restart the process. That's way better than scanning a QR code and tapping pay. /s
