Our family opts out of the scanners (and all the facial recognition stuff) and sometimes it's not an ordeal bit a recent trip through LAX it felt like, they deliberately made us wait 20 min.

Yeah, they make it inconvenient to opt out of that stuff. I also noticed when you purchase tickets through United, they give your carbon footprint score for the flights along with the price. Thanks guys.
