You’ve Never Seen Wi-Fi Go This Far By Data Slayer “Most people think Wi-Fi stops after a few hundred feet—but this $5 Wi-Fi HaLow board proves otherwise. In this video, I live stream from a quarter mile away and run real-world tests through concrete, stairs, and long distances to see if it truly delivers. Spoiler: It’s open-source, low-power, and could be the future of off-grid connectivity.” #wifi #radio #seeedstudio #HaLow #hamradio #amateurradio

Ok. So 5 miles out and you can txt. 1/2 a mile out, maybe some video or high latency gaming? Did you run 20 of these as once to see if there’s congestion?
Exactly, he had another video here recently about reverse engineering a $20,000 military mesh IP network and he talked about doing things like push to talk with mumble over that kind of connection and streaming YouTube from his car a mile away.
It's the link to the note about him doing reverse engineering of a $20,000 military IP network for $106 and watching YouTube from a mile away from his car.
On normal sites, you're right. On YouTube, though, you have to, because after the question mark is the video URL part. I do strip off everything after the question mark for other sites though.
Not a problem. Have a look at the end of the YouTube URL, for example. .com/watch?v=ofR7GFNZzJY If you killed the ? And everything after it would just be .com/watch with no video
That's because of the water reflecting the radio signal. Many years ago I used to steal wifi from an aparthotel10km away across the bay. Both the aparthotel and my house were high above sea level. Only when the sea was rough I was losing the signal.
