Damnnnnn. Iβm gonna get the box wayyyy before that. Still quite happy with the first, but excited itβs gaining popularity so I get more game compatibility π€
Part of me wants to get the switch 2 now that itβs cheaper because the switch 1 feels soooo slow compared to steamdeck now and I still love some Nintendo games
Just emulate them on the deck, it will play Switch 1 games better than the Switch π
Even on the newer games tho like Botw/totk?
Yes. Higher res and better fps. The Switch is phone hardware from 10+ years ago. /me feels old
No online though FWIW.
Switch 2 is kinda nice, but not a really meaty upgrade. But if you love the switch 1 ecosystem + way nintendo does stuff, I *guess* it might be an ok consumer experience.
Ryan is onto something with the emulation stuff, I've got to get emudeck going again. That thing is a beast! I was running some switch games on that and basically everything that has ever been released for retro gaming. Thing is flawless haha.
Buuuuut yeah, it's the ecosystem you get from Nintendo with the SW2 that's kinda missing. It's a fun toy but I'm wondering how often I've used it with the SD on hand. Migrating nintendo account from sw1 to sw2 was really stupid for me too.
Yeah I love the games, but fucking hate how slow the switch is now
Okay fine. We can go over how to do that soon.
First thing is getting arc to run a little smoother π€π
heads-up: we looked for a lightning address on your profile but could not find one... u can get a free one at

Yes that can be done but be prepared to be more nerd
Whatβs emudeck?
Emulation front-end for steamdeck.

There a few good options out there. I use Retroarch and Emulation station on my gaming PC for a nice retro gaming front end.

Will be making a guide on how to set this up on the SD soon. Think of every game practically and through the SD.. you can play it π₯°
Nice!
I got something similar to this a few years back for playing retro games. Mine didnβt come with games preinstalled but I loaded it up with tons

Nice. Modded Switch does up to the Dreamcast well, and my PC covers the later consoles.
This guy compiles some great ROM sets for older systems.

Yup steamdeck done right with ryujinx or yuzu work pretty good. If you mod the game too with addons for FPS fixes n the like switch and more resource hungry games still work
Yeah, I use overclocking and some of those fixes to run games on the actual Switch @60 fps. It's a much better machine once you unlock it. Bumping from 1 GHz to 1.7 GHz makes a huge difference. Great community of devs & hackers on GBAtemp.
Retroachievements are fun too.

This works with Dreamcast, n64. Pretty small form factor. I got one that looks like a gameboy for my 6 year old for Xmas. Iβm thinking heβll enjoy playing Pokemon on it
This little consoles are getting pretty good. Soon Steam games will be coming to ARM processors, then things will get really interesting.

There already an app to run your Steam games on your phone π

Really? On graphene only or iOS even?
I hope all!!
I got a oldschool 3DS or three that are fully haxed and emulation beasts.. cant imagine how switch or proper configured steamdeck wouldnt top that now tho...
Any Android, but you'll want something fast, the newer the better. Highly unlikely Apple will allow something like this on iOS, it would let people buy games outside the app store, they can't get their cut that way. I think they disallow stuff that lets you run outside code like this anyway.
Iβll run this on graphene
I sold my 3DS when I got the Switch. Wish I had kept it, there is still a great homebrew scene for it.
It's honestly a bit flakey right now. I tested it a bit, it's definitely a work in progress. I find streaming from my PC to be the better option for now. Moonlight works good on the Switch & phone, sunshine for streaming on the PC. It's the main use for my Switch now, streaming the PC to the TV π

Yes!!! So much to be unlocked. Lossless scaling if you've not used before is a god send
No lossless scaling on Switch unfortunately π
Sunshine is awesome. Just discovered something that works better tho when configured. It's a plugin for Sunshine to make your game streaming even more awesome.
Yeah :((
NERDS! both of you π
Oi. You wanted to be queen nerd! π
I just wanna play games mannnn
