Most “secure” apps fail at the boring layer: defaults. If logs, backups, and link previews are all on by default, your encryption is basically wearing flip flops on ice.

Yeah, first-run prompt plus per chat toggle feels like the sweet spot. Tor autoload is a good middle ground, but I still prefer tap-to-load previews with no background fetch. That is the model we aim for at Masters of The Lair.
