Yes, don't sell most of your Bitcoin, but remember: your Bitcoin will be worth a lot more if it achieves ubiquity. Cars, the radio, computers, The Internet became ubiquitous because people used them, and saw other people using them. Kinda weird to imagine that the best way to achieve Bitcoin ubiquity is by everyone not using it.

On the other hand, if everybody only holds, the user base cannot grow and ubiquity will never happen... ๐Ÿค”
Ngu price fagging as your only way you're using bitcoin is like saying you're using the internet even if all you do is social media, ok kewl but there are more productive ways to use it.
Exactly. I will say, I hold more than I spend, but that's just sound budgetting. Also, as a person actually selling shit for bitcoin, early adopters neglect the market power they have. For example, I think bitcoiners should demand more transparency in the goods they buy with their bitcoin, tallow based goods with a grass-fed, but not defining what that means. @Great Ghee leading the way with defining and offering both options. I personally also require anything I buy with bitcoin to have an open source "recipe" or procedure.
Gold isn't worth using because lack of portability creates friction, despite many favorable qualities. Bitcoin has friction because technical ease of use is lacking for knuckle dragging luddites. The hope is that between new UX and people more immersed in technology, combined with fiat breaking further, there will be enough motivation to serve to lubricate away that friction.
Correct, holding is using. I use it that way too. It's not an either/or, that's why I opened with "Don't sell most of your Bitcoin". The issue with this being the only way people use Bitcoin is that it this use is not seen by those who don't yet use Bitcoin. Because it's not seen, it's not mimicked, copied and spread. Because it's not copied, adoption doesn't go so fast if that's the only way that most Bitcoiners use Bitcoiners. By using a little bit (.1%, 1% whatever) in a way that interfaces with non-Bitcoiners, adoption spreads and the 99-99.9% of your remaining Bitcoin will be worth much more.
