The "spam" as you call it is valid fee paying transactions following the rules of the network that you agreed to. If you no longer agree no one is forcing you to stay.

Has anyone done the math to see what it will cost in SSDs to run a node in 5, 10, 20 years with spam on bitcoin? At some point only Nvidia will be able to afford a node.
