Giants are certainly easy enough to prove as plausible. And yes, I would agree with your assessment about most of them, but if you dig deeper, the first generations birthed things like the Titans and many of the little g gods, and then the demigods where the Rapheim. (I can never spell that correctly.) That mostly tracks with most mythologies I am aware of, like Tiemat birthing all sorts of monsters and being called something akin to the "Mother of all demons."

i suspect that this was the elaboration/perversion of the story of this woman actually. i think Tiamat is mentioned in there as being one of the forms people attributed to her. this was much later. the greeks called her Aphrodite and earlier versions were more true to what she was about. Her name was Basileia. evil people pervert everything they touch. i am quite sure that "monsters" is a sufficent way to describe a brutish 12 foot tall man who eats people.
