Its a protocol not a platform. Anyone can fork off and create their own subnetworks. There are no central pressure points to take down the entire thing.

Someone could easily run a nostr child porn relay however.

Child porn is the canary in the coal mine. The only proof of a lack of censorship is the presence of child porn. No other form of speech is more hated. If you know another form of speech more hated, let me know and I’ll use that as the canary in the coal mine.
Those are links to other web servers, it has nothing to do with nostr

the text is censorship resistant, nostr is not a censorship resistant protocol for media, but you can host your own media if you want. clients will render media from anywhere you link to.
Software is a great servant but a bad master
that may not be possible in any kind of social media. All helps (serves) that come from software changes your environment data collection and it affects the perception of things.
Well, nostr relays hosts text so the best way to store media that can't be taken down is to selfhost it or trust someone else to not remove it from their servers.
what about bitcoin?
Child porn isn't speech though. So I am not sure I follow? Like I said, NOSTR as a protocol and its relay's could 100% send out child porn, you would also need to host it or find a host that doesn't care you host it. The protocol cares not. There is no governing and central force against it in any way. There can't be. I am also not all together sure there isn't child porn on some relays, perhaps paid or private. Who knows?

Agreed. Software is a technology and like many amazing tools it can support humanity to grow and evolve for the better. It is the people that are the manipulators that abuse this. Let's build technology in such a way that this cannot happen in the future and gives ultimate control to the owners of the actual data that is being transacted when engaging with technolgy.
