You didn't just now. I'm just saying in general most knots proponents do. And I'm sure you have in the past. Why do you run knots? Because someone you respect said a thing you agree with and without any technical understanding yourself you want to do the "right" thing? Feel free to argue the technicals yourself of you can. No one has made a compelling argument yet as to how filters fix anything at all. You all get told the fact then instead of understanding that fact you disagree with an appeal to authority.

If you want the real logical fallacy from above, it's called an ad hominem. Specifically guilt by association fallacy. You tried to discredit my point by tying me to another person who holds a similar view. Instead of addressing the argument, you attack the company you claim I keep. The point is you didn't address the argument.
