Now that I can publish directly from Hash.Pink, this is very exciting. I'll tell you a bit more about the NOSTR integrations I've built today. Some are currently live.
NSEC signup/login. It's instant, presuming you have Alby/etc on your web browser on desktop. Boom, you're in. This is also very nice as it maintains your privacy pretty well, and when I enable BTC payments this week, it's about as private as I can make it this quickly. In case you missed my other post, basically in the last 24 hours I've decided to do a marketing push and work on getting users, so I'm building things as I can.
Second, you can set up a PIN if you want to compose in Hash and publish directly to NOSTR. You'll be required to enter it to "sign" every time you want to publish from Hash to NOSTR. This will help prevent you from accidentally publishing private journal entries.
If you're not interested in the compose feature within Hash, you can still import all of the posts associated with your npub. Once imported, they'll appear on your Entries page in a special tab where you can review them (and some comments) as you like. These entries are also eligible for Insights and Topics pages which help train the model on how you think. Since Hash is primarily a simple journalling app with deep insight capabilities, it's not in your face, but it is kind of fun to see how your thinking changes over time. This feature is being built out and made more intelligent, so for now you can think of it more as a demo.
While Hash is primarily a desktop app, I'm also implementing NIP-46 currently so you'll be able to use Hash in Chrome/Safari on your phone and then pair to your local key manager (e.g. Amber).
I guess when you type it all out it doesn't sound like that much work, but I've been at it for maybe 10 hours straight? There's a fair amount of UI work too, but it's all-inclusive. I likely forgot a few small things I added along the way, so consider these highlights.
I've done light testing, so I am sure some things are janky and there will likely be bugs discovered later. Have fun when you use it!
And just to test, I want to see what happens when I try to send styled text to NOSTR...

In case I wasn’t clear, I wrote that in Hash and sent it to NOSTR directly.
So I've only ever been using hash on my phone. I just thought many of the features you've shown weren't released yet haha.
Will check out on laptop mañana! Is it possible / how difficult would it be to point an nsec to a preexisting user in hash? Not like I have my entire life in hash so could easily start over or use a nym for nostr posting.
It’ll be possible, but of course you’ll dox your email address. But yeah you can currently link a current account.
Some features are available only on desktop but will likely appear in a mobile version. There are others that just don’t work (e.g. 3D galaxy) on a phone without a ton of work, and the issue with like NIP46 is that browser extensions don’t work on mobile, so it’s sort of awkward.
Highly suggest you check out the Upload button too. Sneaky cool features in there!
NIP46 is the technical constraint. I’ve got it mostly built but untested, but my web host is having a random error and I’m hamstrung until they fix it. So probably won’t go out tonight, hopefully tomorrow!
If you and nostr:npub1v7k63c6y2vktlqhsuupywt3yc7ykursujc34at964f9cv9s9y9csjutfk0 are both using it and want to hop on an ideation call this week, I am happy to facilitate. There are a lot of features in this little app and while it’s obvious when you know where they are, it isn’t obvious at first glance.
A key example is that when you upload photos from your phone, I capture the EXIF data that tells me the time, date, and exact GPS coordinates and then displays all that for you. So if you use Hash as your vacation journal, then you go back to the same place, you can visit everywhere you went within a couple of meters.
iOS and Android do this too, it’s just a little harder to use.
There are a bunch of little “happy features” like that which you wouldn’t expect from an app like this! It’s got some quirks for sure, but it’s really pleasant compared to some alternatives.
