The issue is that Reddit has such a large reach. Basically anyone I knew that held an opinion worth a damn used it. It’s going to take a while for nostr to catch up with the size of their user base, and in the later stages that was Reddit’s selling point. Realistically, Reddit is the same now as it was before the API war, the main difference was the fact that 3rd party apps gave people the interfaces and features they wanted. Yes, I understand this is like nostr, but it does remove some of the useful metrics like upvotes. Overall, I really hope we get an analogous Reddit replacement built on nostr
Yeah, stacker does actually pay for content, but it also talks a lot about bitcoin to the exclusion of other things.
This is true, and I abandoned Reddit so I don’t mind speaking to this point. I have noticed it’s much harder to get a good stream of information without it and that won’t be replaced by Nostr for a while. I’ll still be here when it does, but until then the difference will be noticeable
Use the meta sub and talk about whatever you want. I love bitcoin and can talk about bitcoin all day but I do a daily sports post on stacker and people are doing music posts and Econ posts on there too now.
