You dont even have to self host. I gave up self hosting remote servers and stuff a long time ago. Too much overhead. You just have to pay peanuts to a small time service. People will pay 20 bucks a month for Netflix but not 5 for a VPN. Ypi can pay for storage and email and everything for less than 20 bucks with some small time privacy oriented provider.
