Why I think Nostr is an alternative to people under autocratic regimes like Venezuela:
1) Inmune to Regime Control and censorship, so if the regime blocks social media (like it happened with X in Venezuela 6 months ago), Nostr cannot be blocked.
2) Decentralized and each user will own their account and followers.
3) Nostr is also a payment rail in BTC. This is KEY for freedom activists and regular citizens. At some point billions of $ of remittances will be able to be sent directly, fast and mega low cost.
4) Nostr is a BTC heavy community, these are people that take freedom and privacy very seriously. Freedom is the core purpose of millions who live under autocracy, so Nostr is at the intersection of financial freedom, free speech and political freedom.
5) expanding the community of Nostr people under autocratic regimes will be going to the frontline in the fight for freedom. There will be lots of learning and action.

It is a no brainer for content creators and activists ... for the rest there is no incentive ..
Common person is attracted to new interface - not the ideals of #protocol . Unfortunately all the clients are replicating the existing platforms in terms if interface.. normal X user has no reason to come to nostr ..

There is still ISPs and DNS providers, to access the internet and also most clients will have their clients attached to a doimain... is there any .onion clients or other ways to overcome this layers that could censor access?

I joined twitter in 2007 .. it was such a novel thing .. and then using texting as a tweet was even more exciting cuz not many had smart phone .. what is new in nostr from user excitement standpoint ? .... it is a great protocol but all the clients are slam dunk of existing interfaces .. unless we discover something new from user experience standpoint , nostr is just a backend ...
That said , I am hopeful ..cuz upuntill now the protocol was a paradigm shift even for devs .. I am sure they will discover a cool interface .. new devices .. new processes .. gamechanger is still not here !
