You are wondering why you don’t see anything when you first join nostr? The key is to find people to follow. We don’t have algorithms here that suggest any content. You need to browse the hashtags to discover people you like. Still nostr is growing and does not have everything yet. You can help to share new topics and content to grow our communities further.

Yes it is ... for one most if nostr is only 6-8 month old and not 15 years as for Twitter. Also we don't have algorithms, so you have to do more work yourself. On the other hand we have some wonderful people here in the community and diversity is very welcome to break through the echo chamber of computer scientists and bitcoin enthusiasts. find one person you like and check their feed or follows, we need to be able to rank our follows so we can find the best, would then also allow algorithms

look at others feeds, find one user from global and go explore their follows, copy follows or even all
