Well when you say it as an absolute, yeah. Duh. Which is exactly the part of the conversation where someone would say "that's not always true". Again. The whole point is you're speaking concretely about nuanced issues. You can't say something as absolute fact if it's not absolute, and expect no one to clarify that there are indeed exceptions to every rule or observation.
