So true. It’s extremely complex and we tend to try and simplify it by pointing to one thing. In my opinion, Nostr is many things, to many different people, and will solve many problems.

That's why I think it's a little early to walk off other social media. Instead, stop by occasionally and invite people to Nostr, especially people complaining about other social networks.
My guess is you haven’t spent enough time engaging here yet. Follow #plebchain, put a Lightning address in your profile, and contribute to the conversation. #[4] is just one of many clients, and everything is being built while we’re using it.
Damus is amazing! #[4] and team are developing such a fantastic space. Give it a chance. Setup zaps ⚡️ too so I can zap you. That’s my favorite part of Nostr/Damus. Ask us questions if you need help. ⚡️💜🙏
Every time I try to use any other social media service I feel a huge sense of disappointment and disgust. I don’t want to be part of those conversations and arguments, and I don’t want to give my time and energy to algorithms that extract and sell my data. I put my npub in my profiles and walked away.

Totally agree, it will definitely be a catalyst.
Some threads are incompatible between clients. Amethyst will create threads that damus won’t be able to reconstruct properly :( its a mess.

I hear that, but if you have developed relationships and trust they are depending on you to lead the way. Of course, I cannot speak to your particular situation. Meanwhile, peer group pressure can't be overstated in some people's transitions. Personally, I have a number of people that are part of the freedom movement, that I want to both continue engaging with and continue to influence them to come here.
Can you explain more about this. As a user it just always confused me why Damus’s threads were so unintuitive whereas amethyst at least you can read what’s being replied to. Isn’t it the same data you’re pulling down from relays?
Omg literally… just made a request for more explanation on your last reply because your Ui didn’t show me you already expanded on it…
Reddit solved this. All reply threads in comments are fully expanded and nested by default (down to a certain depth and excluding spam), and users can easily collapse any comment and all replies nested under it. Users can sort the whole reply list by various criteria, for example here could be sorted by most zapped by default but user adjustable to be most recent or whatever else you cook up
So many people are mentally fatigued, but I’m hopeful they realize the importance of uncensorable speech and value transfer. Caveat- my faith in humanity is at an all time low though, post pandemic. I would not be shocked to see ThaaS-Thinking As A Service, offered and accepted by the masses.
Yes damus sucks thanks for continually pointing that out. I am only one person and am trying to make damus less bad over time, thanks for your patience.
I’m happy to make bounties to fund for things like this but idk haven’t seen that being a way Damus is developed so idk where I can make impact anyway, funds don’t seem to be the issue just need time and devs
No I don’t think Damus sucks. Some functionality needs more time to fine tune and develop than the others. Other clients have good features, good for them but Damus has its own uniqueness, I’m using Damus from day 1 and I have no complaints. #[6] thanks for your unfailing efforts, we appreciate this so much 🥹🥹
Yes, Damus sucks so bad, I deleted my twitter account. I never posted a single tweet because I had no trust in twitter. Damus sucks so bad I cannot stop yapping on it. 🤣🤣🤣 I hope you like my humor…….. You have revolutionized social media, and I appreciate everything you have done! Thank you!
Keep your chin up , sir. I’m still new to Nostr, Damus, and Bitcoin, but am very impressed with Damus. The greatest things that impact society for the better are never crafted overnight. It’s a long slog but keep with it! Sincerely, appreciative newb

Had tried all of them, Damus has the nicest features and has evolved very quickly and improved steadily. That was a compliment, #[6] 👋🏽:)
Damus is amazing and I’m very grateful that you built this free for everyone.
Yes #[6] did all the translation work, #[7] has made the app look and feel a lot better. #[8] has implemented profile picture uploading, made the profile view nicer, and lots of other stuff. #[9] did image and video uploading, and many other things. #[10] has done lots of image performance optimizations. Its open source, anyone can join and contribute code.

Windows pc. Talk about something that sucks. Took 3+ decades to get a decent os from Microsoft. Damus has plenty of time to get better

Hard to define when all executables are basically the same structure. In the case of windows 3.1, the os that was booted up was dos. All the exception handlers etc. the ui was an app started by a batch file ran by dos. And it was replaceable. If the dos that was in 3.1 is the os you refer too, you are right. Very solid. The windows apps, not so much.
