In a lot of ways, I think opting to use “rage-bait-algorithm-free” social media protocols like Nostr, is one of the best ways we can resist the intentionally divisive and dehumanizing effects of centralized social media.
I think the operators of the big centralized platforms bear a lot of responsibility for the division and hate we see in the world today.
Delete X, delete Facebook, delete TikTok, delete Insta, delete YouTube. All of them. Your brain and your future self will thank you.

this is 100% true. much less division without the algorithm
nostr is absolutely not free from rage-bait (and engagement-farming tactics) or any other negative or obnoxious behavior found elsewhere, sorry. It's also full of people telling people what to do (even if those things are positive—to some, it feels preachy/performative: "Look at how virtuous/a good person I am!")
