Being "early" to a new idea, technology, or scientific development can be psychologically taxing. I've seen it happen in scientific projects that I've worked on, in Bitcoin, and Nostr. It goes something like this: 1. Honeymoon: "OMG this is the best thing ever, this is going to absolutely change the world." 2. Some time passes: "Why aren't more people into this?? I've told all my friends and family about it, and they're not excited. Why isn't this taking off?" 3. Eventually: "Well this can't be that great otherwise more people would have caught on. I'm done." Good ideas take time to diffuse, but they will spread.
