Hey Bob! Great video explanation. Keep ‘‘em coming. I love the evil laugh when explaining the “giant server in the sky”. 😂 P.S. Nice flight simulator! I’m also a private pilot. I fly Piper Cherokee. Being a fellow dinosaur, I also noticed the wizard poster from the Led Zeppelin 4 album jacket. Old school! 👍 Anyway, I’m enjoying the wonderful new tech being developed. Thanks for keeping us informed. Be safe, be well. Peace. 😎
Hello rfgeier, Thanks! I got that sim to help with my IFR ticket. It was a lifesaver. These sims nowadays are really good for flying approaches. My plane is an SR22 from 2005. N345TS. The Countess. Where are you located? image >From: rfgeier<-semisol at 05/05/23 14:41:45 on wss://nos.lol >--------------- >Hey Bob! Great video explanation. Keep ‘‘em coming. Great looking aircraft! Yes, IFR is a tough nut to crack! I’m located in Naples, Florida. I’m still renting my rides. I’ve never flown a Cirrus. I think I got too used to the old steam gauges! I hope to step up to ownership at some point. What software are you using for your sim? Many years ago, I used Microsoft Flight Simulator, but that was before I got my ticket.
I'm using X-Plane at the moment. I was renting DA-40s at the time. I spent a couple of grand on the sim because I figured that it would pay for itself if it saved me 10 hours of rental. I'm sure it did. And, of course, I still use it to keep in practice. The Sr22 is a lovely machine. I can fly from Northern Illinois to Baton Rouge on one tank of gas, and under 5 hours (if the wind is with me.) I've flow to DC, Austin, Charlott, Chattanooga, Monumen Valley, and a whole bunch of other places. It's really quite freeing to own a plane. >From: rfgeier<-semisol at 05/05/23 15:28:41 on wss://relay.damus.io >--------------- >Great looking aircraft! Yes, IFR is a tough nut to crack! Yes, owning must be great. Freeing. I’m hoping to be able to own someday. Renting is very limiting and you can only go for a day flight. Gets too expensive to take for vacation. Thanks for sharing your experience. Let’s keep in touch. Take care and have a good weekend.
