Well that's a bit pessimistic... Occupying as you do a central position in the Nostr network, in the "Web of trust" sense, would clearly offer the potential for some kind of profit if Nostr takes off, wouldn't it? At least in terms of Zaps, and/or the ability to advertise one's own "projects for hire"... Of course nothing's going to be comparable to actually owning the token that powers the network as in the case of BTC, but there are at least some benefits to being at the center of a social network when crowds shows up... Especially one with built-in monetization.

What I mean by that is that just being here early doesn’t entitle us to any material gain. This is not a company, or a currency, and no economic value is correlated to one’s position. We have all the tools at our disposal to built incredible freedom technology, but whether or not that becomes something that can sustain us financially is unknown. I am currently going through a detailed and structured process to vet some of my ideas for their potential to become actual revenue-producing products, but that’s not the same as being an “early investor” in whatever this is.
