“Bitcoin is dead” every bear market “A toy for academics” early www “Will never scale” TCP/IP “AI is dead” in the 80’s The skills, the knowledge, the reputation in the community compound. And if Nostr does reach escape velocity, being an early builder is an enormous asymmetric advantage. You are in the trenches rn. Soggy in the wet soil sir. 🫂

I've poked around with nostr lightly over the last few years, and each time I would give up because it felt too empty or not feasible. And I always had facebook or X to fall back on. I gave up on meta altogether a couple of years ago, and just disconnected from X only about a month ago. It took me too long to realize the kind of damage these platforms cause. But now I'm here, looking for a new home, and so I've decided to give Nostr another shot. So far, it's quiet, but everything *works*, and I am finding some active users to potentially connect with. I'm satisfied with the current state of Nostr and pumped about its future. Once I feel established and comfortable, I'm sure I'll pull in some folks from my personal network.
