I've thought about setting up some kind of Mad Max cargo rack fully equipped with AI aimed paintball guns on pan-tilt mounts in select locations with video cameras to capture and justify the process. Essentially it's a citizen's arrest method. You tag the offending car. When you tell the system to tag a particular car, it will automatically save the last 60 seconds of video of that car, what it did, and carry that video forward all the way until the paintball gun fires and tags the car. It could automatically determine what jurisdiction it is in and send in the video with the GPS location and bearing of the vehicle which would alert police to come deal with the shitty driver who likely wouldn't realize that their car got tagged or have time to pull over, get out, and try to wipe the paint off so the tag is gone. To prevent that, ideally, a special transparent/clear UV/black light reactive paintball paint would be useful, as that would be harder to find and wipe away costing them precious time as the police mobilize. Another solution I've considered before is requiring people to take both the written and driven driver's license exams every year. So many people would fail or shape up. Either way the roads get better. I don't like having to invoke the force of the state though. I wish people would just suck less.
