PRIMROSE — beginning.
A single colour to block in the shapes.
Sky, mountains, water, rocks.
Everything still suspended, everything still open.
This painting I'll keep simple.
The complexity is already in the light.
A light that exists before words.
It doesn't illuminate things — it wraps them, softens them, brings them back to something very old. The boat still on the water seems suspended, as if time had stopped along with the light. A scene that asks for nothing, but holds everything.
This is the subject of my next painting.
It will be called PRIMROSE.
