“La Concha” means the shell
(One from the beach, not one that is used in war)
This is the open air podium in the center of Alicante.
I wish they would have more performances here, because the setting is amazing.

That last sentence:
So very true…
“The old man pointed to a baker standing in his shop window at one corner of the plaza. ‘When he was a child, that man wanted to travel, too. But he decided to first buy his bakery and put some money aside. When he’s an old man, he’s going to spend a month in Africa. He never realized that people are capable, at any time in their lives, of doing what they dream of.’ “

“La Cara del Moro”
Once you see the face in the mountain, you cannot unsee it anymore. (Hint, the face is en-profile)
And the cool thing is that there is a citadel on top!

Unfortunately, only people who are into #pikminbloom know what Proof Of Work this represents…
It’s a whole lot of steps in the real world to get this puzzle completed.

Talking about citadels: Alicante already has one…
This is Santa Barbara Castle at night. An impressive building that seems to grow out of the mountaintop.
The stories these walls would tell you…

A true Dali (Saint Joan) stands in the town hall of Alicante.
Except… the story is that Dali did not have the money to pay the mould-maker his wages. In an unusual moment, the artist gave away the Saint Joan mould to the mould-maker as wages for his labour. The mould-maker later made this Saint Joan sculpture from Dali’s mould.
So far, I have not been able to either confirm or deny this m, but it makes for a great story.

GM from Plaze Gabriel Miro, Alicante, Spain
The big trees are Australian Fig trees and they can become enormous. Quite a sight to see (see second photo).

For obvious reasons, everyone calls this street in Alicante ‘The Mushroom street’.
The story behind how these mushrooms came to be growing here is quite interesting. It was a desperate measure to attract people and businesses to a neglected and even dangerous area. It worked surprisingly well.

Sunset at Playa Almadraba, a lesser known beach in Alicante.
Palm trees and sunsets always make a pretty picture together

Gate to plaza del Ayuntamiento, Alicante, Spain
Every time there are new details I notice when going through this gate. One of those spots where history gets tangible. And going through this gate, it is always a surprise what you will find on the other side.

That moment when you try to work out how zaps work and accidentally zap your own post…

Birdseye view of Alicante by night
When the night falls over the city, it creates this mysterious atmosphere. Especially when a few clouds decide to join.
