Threads on the up and up -- just passed 400M monthly actives on here ๐ฅ
Just shared internally that @npub18raw...gyah will be Chief Scientist of Meta Superintelligence Labs! ๐

We're starting to test DMs on Threads. If you get access to this -- slide through!
Spoiler alert: We're testing a way for you to hide spoilers in your Threads posts.
Working with @npub1jymq...acm3 to enable 1.1GW of clean nuclear energy in Illinois. This will bring emission-free energy to support building the world's leading AI models. Proud to help advance America's clean energy leadership.
Llama is headed to space. It'll be used on the ISS so astronauts can operate AI locally and get things done faster. One small step for AI, and one giant leap for Llamakind!

Open sourcing some good research today that helps AI systems understand perception, localization, and reasoning. Two releases I'm excited about: Meta Perception Encoder that excels in image and video tasks, serving as eyes that enable AI systems to interpret visual information and understand the world, and Meta Locate 3D that can understand and locate 3D objects in space. Glad to get these out to the community.
For fun, here's Llama 4's performance (highest) vs cost (lowest)!

New update we're testing -- show people what you're into by adding topics to your profile.

This will be a defining year for AI. In 2025, I expect Meta AI will be the leading assistant serving more than 1 billion people, Llama 4 will become the leading state of the art model, and we'll build an AI engineer that will start contributing increasing amounts of code to our R&D efforts. To power this, Meta is building a 2GW+ datacenter that is so large it would cover a significant part of Manhattan.

It's time to get back to our roots around free expression and giving people voice on our platforms. Here's what we're going to do:
Next step towards making Threads fully interoperable in the fediverse: now you'll be able to follow people from other fediverse servers who liked, followed or replied to federated profiles on Threads.
Testing the option to choose any feed -- For You, following, or a custom one -- as your default. Also making this more visible in the app. Interested to see how and if people use this.
Congratulations to President Trump on a decisive victory. We have great opportunities ahead of us as a country. Looking forward to working with you and your administration.
Open sourcing a bunch of research on touch perception, dexterity, and human interaction with robots, as part of our AI work. Being able to interact with people in physical and virtual spaces is going to make robots a lot more useful and it's an important step on the path to AGI. Check out our new advanced dexterous robot hand in action. I'm pretty excited about this.
Threads now has almost 275M monthly actives and more than 1M daily sign-ups ๐ฅ
Releasing quantized versions of our Llama 1B and 3B on device models. Reduced model size, better memory efficiency and 3x faster for easier app development. ๐ช
Lots of exciting updates this week at Connect ๐ฅ๐
