I'm feeling frustrated about why Markdown became the standard and why so many text editors and note-taking apps were created for it across all platforms. Why #markdown over #org-mode ?

I highly appreciate the ability in an OS to disable all animations and visual effects, or at least to control their speed and make them faster. Being a person who spends a lot of time working on a PC, I've lost the pleasure of spending time at the computer or looking at my phone screen. I prefer to quickly finish my tasks on gadgets and then ~~go relax~~ do things in the real world.
