There are a lot of shit bags in the military. They are often either blue falcons (buddy fuckers) who will dick you over to make themselves look good, or are lazy fucks who skate at every opportunity. When I was in, I often said the guys often getting promoted were the ones that needed out, and thay drove the ones who should have been promoted to leave at their EAOS. The entire thing has always been an ass backwards cluster fuck. There were also the types that really — and I mean REALLY — just wanted to fucking kill someone... Most of them probably just talked a big game, but some were legitimate psychopaths... And a lot of these types were the blue falcons that got to senior ranks. Meaning they're the evil fucks perpetuating the lies and propaganda down to the grunts to condition them into believing an offensive is somehow defending 'Merica! Sadly, very few come out of the military knowing how fucked everything is. They see past the brainwashing from boot camp, the propaganda in message traffic, and the bullshit of everything. This is a very vocal minority, but a minority nonetheless. Most of the kids going into this war with Iran (and just like every other war) deep down know it is wrong, but are too scared to question anything. They're servile dogs beaten into submission. I've seen it... And for a time, I was one. For so long, "service members" have been considered sacred cows... They're the walking embodiment of "just following orders." Those at the top should absolutely be shunned and ostracized for the evil they commit (e.g. lying to brainwashed kids to kill people). The senior enlisted often are right along with them. The grunts... Those at the bottom that often get killed need to be awoken, but are not free from ostracism. Remember Morpheus's monologue with Neo during the woman in the red dress simulation? "[They are] the very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy." Many of them do not want to fight, but do anyway out of fear. Many want to fight because they want to kill people. And many want to use others to kill people for them. We should not be automatically supporting the troops by default. I've often said we should judge individuals, and not lay blanket condemnation against groups. I still believe that, but until your actions show me honor (true honor, not the military bullshit honor), you will not get my respect or support by default. The honorable thing to do if you're being ordered to Iran is to go UA/AWOL and/or become a conscientious objector. Yes it's a hard choice, but only because they've repeatedly beaten you into submission, and warped your sense of good and evil. The morally good thing to do when given the choice (and yes, following orders is a choice) to murder someone or not is to not murder them. Full stop. The sacred cow status of the military needs to be stripped in full.

Without the state, there would be no wars of any significant scale. Such conflicts would be limited to private property disputes, and without a fiat-funded propaganda machine and military industrial complex, no one would volunteer to die for someone else's property.

This is kind of wild... My wife just legally changed her name back to her maiden name because of fears she has about the SAVE Act. It doesn't matter at all to me since I don't vote, but she claimed that the bill requires the ID to be presented to explicitly state if someone is a citizen, and if such indications are not present (which are not on Texas Drivers Licenses, like with most other states), additional documentation such as a birth certificate are required. Her name on her Passport (slave travel approval document) and Social Security Card never got changed when we got married, which is why she made the switch back at the Texas DPS...
