Since November 24, 2025, Sumatra has been hit by a series of disasters, including flash floods, river overflows, and landslides. These events have hit areas from Aceh and North Sumatra to West Sumatra. The worst damage happened on November 27, 2025, affecting homes, bridges, roads, farms, and public facilities.
Many places are now cut off, especially in Central Aceh, including Takengon, Bener Meriah, Gayo Lues, and Tamiang. Power is out, communication is unreliable, and aid is hard to reach. Thousands have left their homes, and basic needs like food, clean water, medicine, and blankets are running out.
This disaster is not only destroying infrastructure but also putting many lives at risk.
